DH has 4 jars of jalapeño, garlic and onion pickles eggs, and I did 2 jars with just garlic and onion

offees Ready, :caf up at 4:50am
Last night at 8:50 I went out to close the coop door. The door has a big window on it covered with hard wire cloth so the coop keeps good air flow.
The nest I keep under the egg nesting boxes, I pick that up during the day. The chicks are like puppies that tear up their bedding lolo. So I was going to put the nest down for the mamma #3 and her 2 4 week old chicks BUT!!
Mamma was already up on the roost with the adult flock! boy, no roost training, no " sit here by me" just "DONE"
hahaha and I dont blame her, its hot who wants 2 chicks under you when its 90+ out.
Well as for the 2 chicks, they were up on the roost with the other 5, desperately trying to find a spot. I helped them nestle in next to the biggest pullet. One of the 4 week olds tried to get under the pullets wing hahahah, but in the end they all sat nicely. The 12 adults were taking up all but the last 2 to 3 feet of the 12 foot roost,, they all had wings out and trying to cool down.

All is well I think at 4:30am,,, I do hear rooster crowing at me already and some roost shuffling, not sure whats going on but,

I will have coffee an wait until there is a bit of sun light peeking up, they dont need to be up yet.

Several days ago I ordered a second pressure canner. A Presto 23qt I like that presto says their canners are
Induction / glass Stovetop Compatible. The All Americans says they are not.
If I have to wait on 6 jars at a time I will just make myself ill, :th
I got this hand tool last year. I had one 15 or so years ago but my sone used it------ya,, he broke the lid

I thing Ill see how it does slicing the carrots--the blades are crazy sharp, ,nicked myself Sunday getting it out of the cabinet. I dont want them to thin so I'll test one carrot and see. I do have my big cabbage mandolin to use if the slices are to thin.

I am picking up where I left off yesterday,
open the coop; turn on soaker hoses; COFFEE fold the towels; put dishes in the rack away; COFFEE feed the dog--morning house work chores-- AND then get back to getting the carrots and green beans ready to can.
5:41going out to open the coop and get the soaker hoes going,,
As I worked yesterday I listened to a sermon in Galatians 1:1-5 and a series of 6 sermons in Romans 1:16-32 https://www.truthforlife.org/resources/series/gods-power-salvation/

I have never had pickled eggs. I might have to try them soon.

On another thread, someone posted the reason why some canners are ok on glass tops, and some not. If the bottom of the canner is flat, it is ok. If there is a concave contour, it is not. The reason is because the contour will form a vacuum seal with the glass top.

I'm still not ever getting a glass topped stove. Even if they are easy to clean.
