Leghorns are smaller birds. I'll see if I can find a picture of my Daisy, the greatest hen ever, with Patsy a copper Maran so you can see the size difference.

Daisy is the white leghorn on the left. Patsy the Copper Maran is all the way on the right. Patsy was a little smaller than an Orpington. I'm not sure what kind of hen Lilly in the middle is but she weighs in around 5 lbs. My Easter Egger, for comparison is around 6 lbs.

Leghorns are smaller than almost all but bantams. They are ther best chickens. Enjoy.
Oh thats a great photo Bob, I havent had Copper Maran , that was what I WAS going to get, and the Farm Store didnt get the shipment so I got the Leghorns and, hahahah here we are,

Snow White is slender just like yours!!! Thanks for sharing your photo:) puts my heart at ease. Since this is my first batch, I really have no baseline of comparison. Thanks for your help. I cant wait until she begins to lay. Her comb is beginning to come in and is turning more red along with her waddles starting to come in too. So much fun to watch the girls grow up.
I've always called my leghorns "sleek". They are slim and fast. Don't be surprised if she flies as well. My leghorns were always great fliers.

Patsy was extremely photogenic. This was taken just as her molt was ending. If I can find one of her in the sun, she was spectacular. She was living under someone's porch when I recued her and Lilly.

It is safe 5o say the Daisy was my best friend during the time she was with us. She would pass on due to salpingitis. Her body would not stop try to lay eggs and it killed her.

Patsy forever won a spot in my heart when Daisy passed. The two of them were best friends. I was holding Daisy soshe would not be laying in grass alone when Patsy and Lilly came over. Patsy called to Daisy and Daisy started struggling to get down. I placed Daisy on the ground like she wanted and Patsy lay down next to her and kept her company until she passed.

When it came time for Patsy to pass, I knew I had to hold her as well and I did. I owed her that for her kindness to Daisy.

Don't ever let anyone tell you they don't care for each other.

They do, I had a hen this last week that started gurgling and wheezing and her comb was flat and blackish on the ends - I did all I could to help, but her poop said she had issues and I separated her from the flock - The rest of the hens didnt like that

so after a week in isolation and getting all the needed care I could give, her gurgle wheeze did not improve, we culled her from the flock,
