I just noticed this on my 2 week old gander gosling. The hatchery said that it's just a growth. It's crusty at the base, they said to use antibiotic cream if needed. It's on his belly. We are taking him to the vet if and when he needs it removed.

At two weeks old, my guess is that it could be part of the umbilicus that wasn't fully "pulled in" and healed that way. Sometimes a bump or bulge from the yolk absorption/navel healing process can remain - I've seen them sometimes just dry up and fall off. Applying antibiotic cream (without pain reliever) can help facilitate healing, especially if a newly-hatched gosling has a "raw"-looking navel.

Best of luck!

We just had this in the duck forum a duckling didn't for whatever reason absorb all the yolk and when we saw the picture it had already turned brown but as the OP was posting in those few days the dried part fell off on its own. So hopefully the same will happen with your gosling. Just keep it clean and use the antibiotic cream to help.
