So......what breed would you NOT have again----which ones didn't stick

My RIRs weren't very friendly (mostly standoffish), and my Phoenix roo attacked everyone in my family but me (because I was the only person who would stand up to him). I've heard both of those breeds aren't the highest on the "friendliness" scale. Although I loved the appearance of my Phoenix roo, his behavior made him a little annoying. I had friendlier roos, and they were more fun to keep.

Leghorns of any kind, large fowl are crazy and mean the bantams are pansy's

Lakenvelder - devil birds, egg eating flighty hens

modern game bantams - no livability, poor egg laying

D'anvers - devil roos, mean to hens and humans alike

Rock-cornish cross meat birds. They literally act retarded and then die at eight weeks of heart attacks. They're like feathered maggots that just sit around, eat, and grow,

Of the breeds we have now or have had I do not like MOST of the OEGB the hens make such a ruccas if you go into the garage (they have half for there coop and half is still a garage) and they hate to be caught if I do catch them they scream like you are killing them and get all the others all excited. Also they are so tiny its like having a pigeon, and there eggs are small too.
Our first SSH rooster was mean to the others so far the two we have now seem okay. alot of our EE's are unfriendly but thats prolly cause they look alike so I have never payed much attention to them.

I would never have a Showgirl or NN they are just too ugly for me!

Thanks to everyone who has posted their experiences on this thread. It has been one of the most informative things I have ever read on chickens.

Well, personally, I've only had 2 breeds. My grandfather had many chickens while I was growing up and I spent a lot of time there. I'd say I'd never have RIR. They were SO nasty.

Room for more?

I will never acquire another Polish. Zero personality. Some say they're dumb and I cannot argue. They are just okay, not outstanding at all. Even my buff/bearded - who is stunning - is just not very sweet or fun.
Silver spangled hamburgs? My two are like the foreign exchange students of my flock. Avoid people, other birds, quiet, unobtrusive. I like obtrusive!

I own ten different breeds: I ADORE my Austrolorps, my Turken, my Andalusians and my Cochins. All are very energetic and full of personality.

RIR's. Once I finish butcherin those devils I aint NEVER gettin more... another one of my RIR hens jumped up and kicked the h*ll outta my face this morn when I bent down. There's 1 RIR I like outta the whole bunch. The rest are dinner.
