In the meantime, until you can get the ad removed, you could go get a "SOLD" sign and post it. Or you could even post a rebuttal post on Craigslist, stating that the house is already sold and you're being harrassed.

I was going to second the FBI and the local police and attonrey general's office. Yes, you have rights, you're just not going for big enough guns to do it.

What they have done is both internet fraud (offering property for sale that they did not own is fraud) and harassment. Local police need to be made aware right away so they can protect you from the potential "buyers!"

There was another person who had some one post their house up for an estate auction, by time they got home and found out people had cleaned out their garage and barn of anything not nailed down.

Ok...just posted it to the IC3 site. The listing is still on Craigslist. I know that a lot of people have flagged it. I don't understand why it is still on there!

That's awful! Keep all your closing papers in a folder close by, and I'd harrass whoever your lawyer is as well as calling the local police, and even local TV stations crimestoppers division. I'd also be looking out for folks pulling up in front of your house, and telling them if they keep loitering the police will be called since this house is NOT for sale.

I think till its resolved, I'd make a sign and put it in your yard, something like "This House is NOT for Sale!! Fraudulent Ad!!"
