Someone has listed my house for sale......???

I say BULL to that. My ex neighbor vandalized us, threatened us, our children and our animals. HE went and got a protection order against dh, who didn't even do anything. The order said that the neighbor needed to provide proof of 3 instances of harrassment. We said we had no problem beating it since he had nothing because dh didn't do anything. Got into the courtroom and he said he was afraid yada yada yada and the judge granted it because he was afraid! He had NOTHING to show dh even said boo to him(dh laughed at him was the extent of it), we had phone records he was calling and harrassing us, we NEVER called him, we actually tried to ignore him. BUT the judge said he didn't need proof that him saying he was afraid was enough......I'd get the protection order, making sure you include them stalking you.....

She only suspects it's them (why would anyone else do it?) but has no proof. Unless the photos of the inside of the house are from when they lived there... but then, if they had a key to the house because the locks were never changed, then there's a good chance they went in when no one was home and took photos.

Definitely need that "sold" sign out there.
Go get 'em, Shelley!!

omg I'd be scared as well. A key to your door on the porch. Holy cow. There's just no humor in having unwanted people on your property or potentially in your house. Did you call the police when you discovered the key? I would hope the police would take it more seriously if someone is giving access to people to enter your house. You definitely should take pictures of people coming by. Now people driving by are probably just innocently looking for a house. Maybe if you told a few of them that you don't know who put the ad up and the house is not for sell they would go flag the ad as well. I really hope this gets cleared up quickly.

The attorney is going to send a "Demand Letter" to Craigslist demanding that they remove the listing.

At least that will be gone.

I thought they were hanging around outside the house frequently? did I misinterpret? If I did, I apologize
this is what I thought would be enough of a reason

Interesting...so the listing is removed by the Oklahoma fsbo.com but it is still on Craigslist. I am wondering if it is time to contact the people we bought the house from. I do not want to speak to them, and am not sure I can do so, civilly.

I do think they are behind it, because why else would they have been parking outside our house the past 2 weeks? We thought they were planning on coming back and taking some things off the house, but maybe they were just doing this??

You are correct. We saw them and had sightings of them at least 4 times within the last 2 weeks. About the time the listing went up. They live about 20 miles away through dirt roads, and I am on a dead-end street and own the entire cul-de-sac, so no one has any reason to come down here unless they are really really lost, or up to something.

They have no friends here. The neighbors all hated them. They had foster kids they abused and tortured. They were banned from having any more through the state, but found a private agency and that is how they make their living.

Oh, and I would like to add that if you can get video of them outside and date it each time you will fare better. If there is one thing I have learned about the justice system and being a victim is that your word is not enough, and sometimes pictures aren't enough. You need to have video or a third(non-related) party witness....(ex neighbor tried to run my sons(7 & 9) over but because no one else saw it on our dirt road, it didn't matter

I say to laugh about it because it will only help you. If you get mad it only hurts you. Also if you are so mad that it you are ranting then you don't think straight. I may have read wrong but I thought you said that the crazy people have been setting in front of your house taking pictures. That would make we concerned for the safety of my family & grounds for a restraining order. Like I said even if they don't approve it then it is still on file if something else happens. If you have to shoot someone the more that you do before hand to prevent it (like restraining orders) the easier your court day will be if you even have to go that far. If the judge does not approve a restraining order & they do something else then action against you by law enforcement isn't likely.

Yeah, I know I sounded a little snippy, and I'm sorry about that.

I think I am still upset that my mom thought it was hilarious. She doesn't see the bigger implications here, and I really don't expect her to. She thought it was ridiculous that we had to put a lien on the house in the first place when they were trying to sell it a few days before closing.

I've been talking to my lawyer, and I've been telling him the past few weeks about what has been going on. I am hesitant to call the police because we live so far out and they do not want to be called out unless someone is dead or about to be. If you live in a small town you do not want to be on the police's bad side. Especially when you live 8 miles outside of town!

I am hoping the FBI will investigate and get it taken care of.

Here is the link to the original issues we had with them, if anyone is curious. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=124525

instead of calling them out can you just stop by the dept and talk to them? If you speak to them calmly and explain the problems(and not sound paranoid, not saying you are) ask for their opinion on how you can handle it/what your options are......
it should also help you feel them out.....
