Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Tina, I started building a cabinet incubator. Part of my brain took over and stopped me. The other part says "finish it!" All I have to do is finish putting it together, have most all the pieces. But the urge to keep it not full.... It will hold at least 240 eggs, with the turners. Without... look out!! The excuse I will give my husband is this... I won the Marans egg show at the Congress! How could I not take advantage of selling chicks. This is a big honor, and an advantage to ride the money making bandwagon. Not usually like me, but if I can't start getting some cash flow.... Disability still hasn't made a decision. The most important Dr, my Rheumatologist, isn't sending in the necessary papers. I told him about it, and his response was, "do you want disability, or do you want me to make you better?" Well, I'm getting worse, what the heck?

If you don't already have one...I think a website would be great. Go ahead and post pics of your winning eggs along with pics of your birds...and jump on that sales bandwagon while you can! I have had some success coaching a few folks thru the SSI and SSDI disabilty process. I would be happy to review your file and see if there is anything I could add. In the meantime, my suggestion would be to make an appointment with your doctor strictly to review and pickup the paperwork. That may give him the incentive to get it done ahead of time or while you are there.

Babies are on there way. The tracking number they gave me is not registering and I repeated the # back to the girl.
Had a message that they removed the cream Brabanters from the bill 'cause they didn't hatch. I called back to see if I could add something else and they had already been shipped.
Making me a little nervous . Everyone keep your fingers crossed.

Sending you good vibes!

I know a breeder that has cream Brabanters.... even picked up a dozen eggs for Dahlisgrams at the show.
She's upstate NY, it's Marquisella.

I think she has a photo of her Cream Brabanters on the Poultry Congress thread. They have gorgeous plumage.

The last time I got hatchery chicks, the tracking number was invalid because they only use delivery confirmation, not tracking. So you pretty much don't know what's going on until the PO calls. Despite the wind, the weather is warm, so things should go smoothly.

I had a really rough day today. Huge depression over the job/insurance situation which led to a big "discussion" with Bobby. I'm exhausted!

New chicks should be a big help...

She didn't have any at the Congress.
She's up there, Vernon. Between Syracuse and Utica.
Problem with selling chicks is everyone wants pullets.
I was in on the brabanters too... at least I am on this side of the city and am planning a trip to Seneca Falls to do a guest lecture sometime late spring/early summer. Maybe I can swing by her way and raise a bunch of straight run and hope to get enough pullets for everyone. I have to give it some thought though. Do you know what she usually charges for chicks? or eggs I suppose (I would have to get a bator to go with them
