Good morning all! I've been up since about 3. This storm is interrupting my sleep. Something must be done about this! The trees blowing around are very loud (especially when you're listening for it)
Dan just left for work, so I'm busily cleaning up the first breakfast round. Schools are closed, so I'm hoping the kids stay in bed for awhile! I'm going to bring in more wood I think, to avoid it getting soaked. My tenant just left as well, I hope she's careful-she works at St Charles, and most of Port Jeff harbor is shut down and evacuated...
I had my middle son, Joe there just yesterday-badly swollen finger-the PA thinks it's broken, I agree, but the x-rays were not very sharp due to the enormous swelling. SO-Football season is officially over for my sons. Which is ok at this point-too many injuries this year. I'm ready for wrestling season...Oldest son's on JV, Joe is in middle school team, and My little guys first year! My daughter is also the manager of the JV and V teams and I get into the fundraising and other stuff, so it's a family thing!
I am waiting for first light, so I can fill up the girls food and water, and make sure they have nice fresh hay and shavings. I'm going to worry about them. I hate the fact that they will be so scared by things hitting the roof of the coop, and I can't explain or comfort them. Well, Hopefully the plywood will keep them safe, and I'm sure they'll just sleep and eat the time away.
What can I give them to keep them busy? I have a kitty "Busy ball" that you put treats in. Maybe filled with vegetables....
is everyone battened down and ready? Landfall is supposed to be around 4pm, stores are still open this morning out here-I know I don't need anything, but why do I feel compelled to go? I won't of course, but I'm really antsy. Jumpy, I need to DO something. I'm gonna go do the wood. Maybe that will calm me down.
I feel exactly like that smilie.
