We've had our guesses on this beautiful 19 week old SS. No crowing yet, but I'm pretty sure she is more likely a he. Those saddle and tail feathers are just too male looking.
Really sucks because I really really like her/him, but we can't have roosters. We were supposed to get 2 SS chicks back in October, but the Feed Store clerk gave us the wrong ones (we didn't get to pick them this time due to Covid) and we only ended up with 1 SS.
Your guess?

He's doing well. I plan to set his girls eggs in the incubator at the end of the month as they are laying nicely.I was fortunate enough to find someone on BYC that is going to breed them, is relatively near us, and was looking for a cockerel so I rehomed him with him and I will eventually get one of his female offspring in return. The guy is also really nice and sends pics of him for us to see. I can't wait to have one of his daughters. Your girl is gorgeous! I love her feathering!
Awww, I loved that he did that! Maybe it will start happening again when his girls go broody. He's a ladies man I guess! I am glad all is well with him and his flock! He's doing well. I plan to set his girls eggs in the incubator at the end of the month as they are laying nicely.
Sadly, he has stopped wanting to preen my hair from my shoulder in the mornings, instead he comes over, pecks my shoe to get my attention and then when I look goes and dances around his girls.
