I picked up my trees today, a few over 300 lol, what a generous group of people our Forest Svc is!!!

I am so excited!! My Donorschoose project for the soil and water test kits got 2 donations and is now only $79 bucks away from being funded! What a great day!!

And Rancher I completely agree with you about our landscapes in this country. We do need to be careful or we will change it for good!

Kim how exciting about the new chicks but I know it also means a lot more work to prepare for them. You are going to be one busy camper for the next several weeks! Good luck!

One of the reasons I started my garden with raised beds is there is tarvia in the yard and I couldn't dig it out. I've got a mess in the way back of the yard that was used for a dump. I'll never get it cleaned out. The house was built in '59 so Lord only knows what or who is buried back there. Gotta guy last fall to remove some big junk like a refrigerator and other metal stuff. There's still more to be removed. My concern is for the water in the creek.

Now thank the Lord. We are on City water and I don't use anything else to water my garden or chickens. We do have a well but it is capped off. Can't say what is in it. It' can't be 50 feet from our sceptic tank. I have no idea why people do such stupid things.

I'm going to get my squares mailed sometime next week. I won't be on here much for the next two months. Going to be doing some remodeling of the house so we're going to have to put Hughsnet on hold for a bit. I will be checking in every now and then when I go to the libriary in town. Just thought I'd let you all know so you won't think I've deserted you.

I'm gunna miss getting on here and seeing whats going on with everyone and their squares.

Going to be doing some remodeling of the house so we're going to have to put Hughsnet on hold for a bit. I will be checking in every now and then when I go to the libriary in town. Good Morning All.
I have a 'strange' request and I hope that nobody will mind.
Have any of you 'met' the BYC member called Nambroth? She has a silly little chicken named Derperella and she's been posting pictures and wonderful little stories since Derp hatched. After a while there were so many folks following the thread and asking for 'Derp Memorabilia' that she put some post cards, mugs, t-shirts, etc out on Zazzle.
My Mom has lung cancer and although she's doing 'ok' for now, she almost never leaves the house because of the O2 and such. When I stumbled across the Derp thread, I called Mom and read it to her (she doesn't have internet). She LOVED it and now asks me almost every day, "What's my little Derpie' up to today.
So - here's the request. I bought some of the Derp post cards a little while ago and I think that my Mom would get a real kick out of receiving cards from Derp sent from all over the country. I checked with Betty last week and she said that she would be willing to help out. What I was hoping is that I could send the filled-out/stamped/addressed cards in with my squares and, if anyone was interested in doing it, Betty would include 1 with the squares being returned to you. All you would have to do is drop it in the mail so it gets a post mark for someplace 'far away'. If you would be willing to do this - could you send me a PM? I'll stick a sticky note with your user name on a card so all Betty has to do is add it to your pile of squares heading back out.
I intend to deny any knowledge of it (to Mom) and just let her have a giggle over this silly chicken sending her cards from all over.
