I need to start mine too. Been working on a couple of patterns but haven't gotten them to the right size yet. That's the hardest part though. Once that's done they will crank out pretty quickly. I can't post photos either since my main computer is down and all the software is on that one and this ancient laptop doesn't have the memory for it. I sure enjoy seeing pics of everyone else's squares though.

I think picking the yarn & picking the pattern is always a hard part and the hardest to me is learning a new pattern.

You're right that once you get the pattern down then they just flow. I was kind of glad I didn't have my coupons w/ me yesterday b/c I couldn't make my mind up on the beautiful yarn colors. I think I'll go to the basement and dig around in my stash bins and see what I have. It's wet & cold here today. The kind that chills you to the bone. I have lots of chores today, but I think I'm going to take some time to do a little crocheting. Sorry your main computer is down. Can't wait to see pics of your pattern you've chosen.

Thanks Kate. I appreciate it. I have been crocheting but after I finished all my own projects I started on chemo caps for the oncology ward at the hospital. They were amazing with my Mom. Such sweet, dedicated folks! But I'm looking forward to working on these squares now. Kinda excited by one of the patterns I'm trying. Hope I can get it down to size though.

Well, I got a post today from The Easy Garden so that part is working. I'm still not getting them from here. I have to log in and read this way. I guess that's better than nothing. Hope you guy have fun with your blocks. I'm thinking of doing another 15 since I'm worried that this glitch with the site might cause some of the people signed up not to follow through. Maybe it will all work out in the end though. Let's think positive.

Glad you received a notification for the Garden thread, but sorry you still are not receiving them for this thread.

The only thing I did after I wasn't receiving them was hit the subscribe button again. I never hit the un-subscribe button at all. I have no idea if that is what did it for me or not.

Betty maybe send all the participants that haven't checked in, a private inbox message to ask them to drop in and say hello. That's what I'd do if I was worried about a participant.

I found some yarn in the basement to get started w/ the center floral part of my pattern, but need to pick up a "cool" green to finish them out. Getting closer to getting started.

I've been working on an afghan for my daughter. It's going to be huge and take a long time to finish. I'd like to have it done by her graduation. Hmmm...we shall see. It might get bumped as a 'Move in the college dorm' present.

Our snow has melted leaving a yucky muddy mess. Weird winter....

Glad you will have your computer back soon and totally understand about the bother of having to re-load everything. Ugggg...it takes time to do those kind of things. I need to take everything off my DD's computer and save it on a few hard drives so her can be worked on. Can't wait to see this new pattern of yours. Hopefully I'll have something to show soon. Yea! I'm getting notifications again!

I tried everything before. I was getting the notifications well past the time everyone else said they weren't, so when it happened to me also I hit "subscribe" first. That didn't work so I "unsubscribed" to everything then started over. That didn't work either so I went on the forum and tried suggestions from Nifty's thread Bugs & Problems With The New Platform. Nothing worked but I didn't try changing emails like they suggested. I like my spam filters and don't want to have to monitor yet another email address so I figured I'd just give it time and they would fix it.

So far, yesterday and today it's working.

Hope they get everyone's problems fixed! I know they are working hard on it.

here is a sample of what I plan to use. I need advice on the outer round. I'm considering dark brown or brown of some shade. I usually go for black as it's more the traditional color. I will use variegated colors for all the flowers and a shade of green for the petals. and show a second color I have. I unfortunately don't have more of the red, but I think you'll like what I do have. Remember grannies are my favorite to make so have lots of left overs.
