I should use this techniquefigures! I'm going to add some more ladies into our flock to see if this beast will calm down. His hormones are raging right now so I'm just trying to be patient with him.
For some reason he doesn't even care if my husband goes in the enclosure, but if it's me he's on me like mice on cheese. I have a stick I bring with me I call the "Sid Stick". It's not to whack him, I put the stick out between me and him so that he knows that I require a certain distance. I did this with squatch and now squatch stays that distance away from me unless I ask him to come closer.
I learned it from my grandfather because he had a cane and he raised ostriches for local restaurants. He would put his cane between him and the ostriches at a young age so they knew that he required distance.I should use this technique
Is Squatch the rooster in your avatar?I thought so too for my first time breeding and hatching. Squatch is quite the looker, he's just stunning to me. He's huge, past my knees!
