Squatch Zone (hatching Squatch eggs)

Eggs went into lockdown today. I put non slip shelf mat in there because my first hatch had a hard time walking on the incubator mesh.

I'm down to 11 eggs. One of my eggs out of the 10 I guess decided it didn't want to be a chicken.

Nope, not even a little.
:lau figures! I'm going to add some more ladies into our flock to see if this beast will calm down. His hormones are raging right now so I'm just trying to be patient with him.

For some reason he doesn't even care if my husband goes in the enclosure, but if it's me he's on me like mice on cheese. I have a stick I bring with me I call the "Sid Stick". It's not to whack him, I put the stick out between me and him so that he knows that I require a certain distance. I did this with squatch and now squatch stays that distance away from me unless I ask him to come closer.

I should use this technique

I learned it from my grandfather because he had a cane and he raised ostriches for local restaurants. He would put his cane between him and the ostriches at a young age so they knew that he required distance.

My grandfather amazed me as a child, he was like an animal whisperer. It's sad that he only lived to his mid-fifties, but at least I got to experience who he was.
