Ah, sorry for never getting back.
Lol, yeah, I've never had freezing weather so I wouldn't know. Plus, all the horses look so cute with the St Patrick's Day get up!
I lunge my horse in the arena. I think he prefers it. It has helped me with desensitizing him to new arenas and new spaces with scary things. Trailering... etc.I definitely will start working on yielding her hindquarters, and loading in the trailer. She does have some experience loading in the trailer but haven't done it all winter. I don't intend on riding her until she is at least 3 years old. I would like to work on lunging with her but don't have a round pen... can you still lunge without one? Thanks for all of the training ideas!
How many horses, how old and how long have you had? And how old are you? You sound very knowledgeable. I'd stay relaxed and know you have plenty time. No need to rush if she is 1-2. I like how you handle her with tying, brushing, braiding, picking up her feet, blankets... She will have great patience and be a calm pony and developing that trust with her so young is awesome! More photos please!!Thanks! Wait till you see their Easter outfits!
