I'm sorry you lost your birds.

Did you provide them grit and oyster shell?

What did their droppings look like on a daily basis and before they passed away? Runny? Watery? Foamy? Oily? Worms?

Are you changing their water daily and sanitizing the waterer at least once a week given how hot it is? All sort of nasties can generate in waterers, especially when its so hot.

Have they been eating normally? You say you've been giving them old veggies - hopefully not moldy and rotten ones as that can cause issues as well.

Maybe we can help more when you can provide further information.

have you disinfected the auto matic watering system of lat?

they do have to be disinfected
hot summer heat causes germs to grow inside the system

how many older hens do you have?
How many younger hens do you have?

do not give them cracked corn as it adds to the heat in their bodies

what was some of the messages you got on the other post?

Did they mention coccidiosis?
as it is possible in both young and old chickens

also did any one give you the wet mash probiotic?

here are both ideas
use the cayanne pepper for a herbal destroying of coccidiosis and worming the chicken also
I would feed it in the feed all the time
It can't hurt the chickens but only help

so you can do this and it is very good

***4 qts of crumbles
3 tbsp of cayanne pepper
mix good and do not give any other feed
feed this for two weeks and it will straighten them up

then put them on the cayanne pepper at the rate if
4 qts dry crumbles
2 tbsp of cayanne pepper for life
they will be
both given pepper for coccidiosis and worms

it is very effective and you can eat the eggs

also give the wet mash probiotic
1 qt dru crumbles
1-1/2 qts milk any kind
1/4 cup of yoguart and will be fed so that they each get 2-3 tbsp of wet mash
what they will eat in 20-30 minutes
then clean up wet feeder and restore dry crumbles

feed this once a day for three times a week then once a week for life

thus it will make healthy eggs
and healthy chickens

you can email me PM with any other questions
