Suddenly aggressive rooster - Please help

Hm. He definitely matured quite a bit since the first time. He might've felt vulnerable being away from his girls, and stressed that an outsider tried to pet him (almost no chicken likes being petted). My advice is to not pick him up and let him have his space. Today shook him up quite a bit, as per his reaction. Any fix of the "put him to the ground, show him who is boss" has never worked here. He's just one of those boys that likes more space

We only keep cockerels who respect our space, and spend their time watching out for actual danger, and interacting with their flockmates. Humans are not ever targets here!
We don't try to make pets of our cockerels either. They are part of the flock, not our buddies. Too often this turns out badly, IMO.

Same. I want a rooster that takes care of his girls. If they want to come and be buddies for a short period of time, fine by me. Too many a time I have been attacked by roosters that once were cockerels that respected my space. My most successful males have been the ones that were friendly teens

So this happened in the coop? If so, he most definitely felt confined. Picking up a bird (unless done for health inspections) is a bad idea IMO. Only if the bird initiates it, should you lift a bird off the ground or pet it

What can I do to help this? He's so aggressive he tried to fight a waterer.

I do not know what will help about the people, or if anything can help.

As regards the waterer, I expect that situation will soon solve itself: he can fight it as much as he wants, no-one gets hurt, no-one wins, and he will eventually decide that waterers are not predators to chase off or roosters to battle for dominance. (I wish it were that easy to solve the attacks on humans!)

Alright, so he decided he was gonna be way worse then yesterday, and literally skin my wrist with his bites. He's being given to a friend who breeds silkies. Thanks everyone! I was really concerned he was just randomly being aggressive/scared

My broody hens bite me regularly and break the skin. I even have scars in the shape of triangular beaks.
My Doctor of 30+ years just laughs.

My roosters aren't pets so they aren't handled unless necessary (nor do I carry them around) If you want a pet rooster just raise one separate from the girls.Sorry he didn't work out!
