Sultans!

I'm sorry, but I have no idea who might be in GB?? Hope you find someone!

emach, I gotta admit, looking at my girls today, they're getting very red in the face! This is new, and I'm worried they're going to lay soon and I don't have their next box ready!! Yikes!

how many hens did you say you had all together? Im a little like you, my girls were ready to start laying, and their boxes werent ready, so I have some of those five gallon buckets in their coop and that is seeming to do the trick for now, maybe you could put some out just in case they decide to start laying? I did it because I didnt want them to just pick a random place and lay, and then I go on an easter egg hunt everyday for eggs!!! hehehe!! Do you have more pics of your Sultan? I didnt get any of my baby today, because once again, the wind was crazy here in Oklahoma!

I have 8 pullets and one cockerel. I need to go to home despair anyway to get more buckets for drinking water and for my feed fermentation system, LOL. I like the way one husband said of his wife's chickens, that her eggs were the most expensive eggs in the world, but she said not really, the first one cost $1200, but the rest were free

I'm so glad my sister remodeled her house and my brother gave me the used wood from work, it saved me a TON of money making my coops!!! My sister's house had wood paneling which she pulled down to put up drywall, and the stuff was 3/4" thick! One side had the wood grain stuff, but the rest was good plywood! Amazing! I can build another coop easy out of what I have left over, LOL. But will have to buy 2X4's LOL

My girls are so dirty again

When the weather is warm again, I'm going to give them baths and take some nice pictures. I must say, I've bathed 3 different birds and each one seemed to LOVE it, which was a shock to me, LOL. Charlie got dirty last night and I bathed him, and blew him dry, and he's never been so content, LOL. Just sitting there while I blew him dry almost asleep, LOL.

In all honesty, he's a boy :( Sorry! Very pretty boy though! Even his crest is spikier than girls. Looks almost just like my Charlie. Is he regular size or bantam? Mine is bantam. My Charlie's crest is just a little farther along, but still not full like it should be :)

DARNNIT!!!! Yup, hes a bantam. Good thing his name is a gril name. His name is "cluck cluck". How old so you think he looks in those pics? I have yet to hear him crow?

isn't he about the same age as my Charlie? 4 months or so? He may not crow if he is being dominated. I have 3 crevecoeur cockerels that live with two dominating hens that almost never crow (except in the early morning until I let them out, hence they spend the night in the house now. When I bring them back to the run later in the morning, Henny Penny always gives each one a good peck so they know who's boss, LOL. She's a leghorn. Anyway, I'm rather confused because at the same time, she must let one of the boys have their way with her 'cause their eggs are fertile! Have been since the boys were 14 weeks old!

Anyway, just my guess on why your boy isn't crowing yet :)
