Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

Agreed that Mindy is adorable and so glad she and Sadie are now friends.

Sunny love your story!

My cat, Winky puts all 3 of my dogs in their place. It's hilarious! He doesn't like them rough-house playing together and lets them know it. If they get to rowdy he'll hiss, growl and even bat at them. Winky will love and rub all over the dogs sometimes. I think he and my dog Violet have a special bond.

My other cat is very shy. I think she hid upstairs for almost a year after we brought the puppy Harper home, but she venture downstairs now from time to time.

I hope everyone is well. Seems like all kind of gunk is going around here. I'm not sick, but have horrible sinus pressure.

The business is going well so far. I'm super busy so no time to crochet lately. Hoping to be able to afford to hire more help so I can have a little time off from work.

LOL Watching Winky must be like watching the dominant hen at work in a flock. Animals are so funny to watch.

So glad the business is doing so well! Hope you get some time off soon. Time to yourself is a precious commodity when you are starting a new business. I'm sure you deserve it! Good luck in finding some quality help.

Got a call this morning from my daughter in NC. Her daughter was driving her mom's SUV and was in a head on collision with a dump truck. She was stuck in the SUV until someone came to help but she walked away from the accident with not even a broken finger nail. The Angels were with her today. The driver of the dump truck was at fault and he received minor injuries. My daughters SUV was totalled.
I thank the good Lord that she was safe.

Hey, everyone! I'm not exactly "back" but I thought I'd pop in to say hello and see how everyone is doing :-)

I think animals know more than we do. Last night Sadie and Mindy were chasing each other around the living room and dining room and I couldn't keep up with who was chasing who.

This is waaay too funny. We used to have a dog named Sadie and now we have one named Mindy! Great minds? :D

Our neighbor has peacocks and one has been hanging out at my house this past week. sadie has decided that Fred isn't welcome and every time she sees him, she either chases him up into the biggest eucalyptus tree or on the roof of the house. Yesterday I had to get a Burrowing Owl out of my chicken coop. They are so little and so cute, It must have been hunting mice. The chickens didn't seem to mind it being there.

It was 9 degrees this morning and we had no water. Our pipes are fine. It was the community well that froze. I couldn't clean (what a shame) He! He!, so I crocheted for a while on my daughters shawl I'm making for her. I have two baby blankets to make now and a baby quilt so my fingers will be busy for a while. The water was running again a couple of hours later.

Yeah it was 1 degree above zero 2 nights ago but was a tiny bit warmer last night. These cold temps are making life more difficult for sure. The animals water keeps freezing (even day time temps have stayed below freezing for 3 weeks now) so I have to truck hot water down to the coops and out to the dogs often during the day. Can't wait for temps to come back up to normal!

It's a little warmer here. My water didn't freeze last night so it stayed over 25. I hope it stays for a while.

Look what I found in my chicken coop. It's still there too as it doesn't want to leave. Must be the mice. It's a Burrowing Owl and the first I've ever seen. It's such a little thing.
