Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

I have two sets done already so you can put me down for them. I may be on the way to three but can't get at my blocks to count them right now. If I'm beyond two sets then I'll let you know. I have all three sizes but I have many different patterns as you could see on my photos.

I laid my faithful friend Jada to sleep today at the age of 16. She was such a good dog, originally my sons who has since passed away. I just couldn't stand to see her suffer anymore. She just closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this! On Monday after, my dad's dog... who I got him as a puppy my senior year in high school for Father's day... died of cancer My dad was on vacation and before he had left, none of us even realized King was sick..... Then Monday, he was dead... the vet said cancer it broke our hearts! So I can empathize with your pain

WOOHOO! I found all but one of the yarns we need! I just got 5 of the colors for $20 including shipping, 2 I found on sale at my local JoAnn's, then tonight as I was going through my stash of yarn for a different project, I found the CAFE LATTE! (Glad I found it before buying it! LOL!) so.. I have all but Plum Perfect... which kind of saddens me... I really liked that one :/ oh well! I'm pretty stoked to have all the other colors though I know we didn't have to get them all.... but... you can NEVER have too much yarn!

That's fantastic!!!! I found all the colors, but Royal Sparkle. Like you, I knew we don't need all of the colors, but wanted them just in case I want to make more extra solid colors to add to a project to tie in all my swaps. Where did you find Royal Sparkle? I keep thinking it will pop up in one of the stores.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's dog.

Sunny, put me down for 2 sets please! Right now I've got 21 blocks total--mostly 6 inch blocks but a few each of 12s and 6x12s. I was just in the process of counting them and making sure they measure up (hahaha). Now I'm off to find baggies and make labels. I'm really excited to see what everyone creates!!! I'll take a pic of the blocks before I bag them up.

That's AWESOME!!!! I haven't made any of the 12" or rectangles yet. I can't wait to see a peak of yours.

I have thirteen 6" squares and four 12". I hope to make two sets, but they don't count as swap squares, so I think a few more or a few less will be ok.

I gave my friend her prayer shawl this morning and she's been wearing it ever since. I told her everyone had put in a stitch, including Gracie the cat and, probably, Brandy the cat. She's happy with it and said nothing is ever complete unless it has cat hair in it.

I am so glad your friend likes the prayer shawl. It's BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I love how everyone contributed stitches and even Gracie & Brandy the cats. That makes it even more special.

Hookedonstitch-I'm sorry to hear about King. They can't always tell us they're sick and then they die unexpectedly. He is in my heart.

The problem square had a stich tucked away under another stitch and I missed it. i found it and reworked it and the square turned out fine.

I found it online at knitting warehouse! I got 5 of the colors from there! (They were just out of Plum Perfect) Oh well I'm pretty stoked. Maybe I can find it somewhere soon!
