Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

This pregnancy has been really hard on her, although I believe the dr could have made her much more comfortable. They did another ultrasound this am and her fluid went down bit overnight but the dr at the "Maine Medical Center" said that she could go home as long as she came back to Portland twice a week for ultrasounds and to keep her nausea and heartburn in check. She also told her bed rest, eat and sleep. I'll be taking her to Portland Monday and keeping my grandsons as much as possible. Hopefully she will carry as close to term as possible and every day counts as far as lung development. Prayers and thoughts accepted here! Thank you ladies, your awesome!

Wow when I hear things like that it makes me shudder! She's vomiting and her other doc doesn't bother to check for dehydration? How huge of a no-brainer is that? Even for a layperson that's a pretty big Duh!

Glad to hear she is doing better! I've been very worried about her since you first posted. Keep us updated. Thanks.

She is doing better. Her fluid levels have come up into normal range now. Poor kid, she has been so sick with this pregnancy. Her doctor has just shrugged off the nausea and vomiiting but the new doc told her that she has been dehydrated for a long time. So they are addressing that and an antinausea med and heartburn meds. She is having another ultrasound in the morning. If it show the fluid is still normal then she will come home! I have my grandsons and they miss mom awful! Thanks for asking!

I am sorry to hear this. I can only imagine how you worry. Give her my best,

Rancher

Yes a large part of a baby's lung development happens during the last trimester. Praying she makes it close to term!

This is me and nuttsy the cat. We never went near the silkies without our head gear.

Cathy-I am offering merit for you and your family. Please keep us up to date.

Rancher-Some cats pay more taxes than others.

Thank you for keeping the chick pictures coming. It's been five months since I've seen a chicken and you are my only chicken connection.

Hi everyone!

I've been trying to pop on and read the thread every day, but haven't had time to post. Working hard to finish all the last min pesky details to get our new business open. I get things done at the house and then go work on the new business most nights. Plus we have DH's 80 yr old uncle visiting us, so making quality time for him as well.

I've just been busy busy busy. I picked DD up from college on Sat evening for us to meet some friends for a concert in St. Louis. DD came home to spend the night on Sat night so she could visit w/ her great Uncle and also DH's best friend from school was also visiting. We had other friends come over for dinner Sun night and then DH's uncle & I drove her back to the dorm later Sun night.

I have not connected any swap squares from any of the swaps I've participated in on here. In the past I just couldn't decide if I wanted to join all of them to make a big hodgepodge afghan or make more of the same color scheme to make a more uniformed one.

Sunny~ Post some pics of your new Lav beauties when you get a chance. I finally broke down and listed the evil Cuckoo Maran roo, 2 silkie cockerels & 5 baby chicks for sale on Craig'slist. I'm going to post them at Rural King as well. The competitive crowing is driving us all crazy.

Alethea~ I love how you connected your squares from the last swap. It turned out sooooo nice! Thanks for letting us know how many more squares you had to make to have a nice size afghan.

Cathy~ Thinking of you and your family. I hope all goes well w/ your DD for the rest of her pregnancy. How is your first hatch going? I'm so excited for you!!!!

Rancher~ Love all the pics you posted!

Beth~ Woohooo! Good for you for completing all your squares!

Kassaundra~ Congratulations on your first hatch! I can't wait to go take a peek at your thread.

I was able to do a little crocheting on a 12" square over the weekend, but I need to finish it. I think I still need to finish about 14 more squares in my 2nd set. I need to get cranking on them.

Almost Friday!!! I hope everyone has a fantastic day~
