Happy Thanksgiving everyone. There is much to be grateful for.

Betty-Thank you for helping your family so much. Thank you for taking Sadie with you. Those dogs have been a big part of her little life.

Ahhhh. Stuffed to the gills! I love this holiday! Yes we had a great Thanksgiving. Thanks for asking. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving too!

I miss chatting about crochet also. I have started a baby afghan for my next great grandchild due in July I think she said. They don't take long to do since they're so small although I'm making this a little bigger than the pattern.

I had a great Thanksgiving, ate too much of course, but it was nice to be with family. Remember this is my second Thanksgiving since we had one in October when my grandson came home on emergency leave when his other grandma passed away. There are enough left oversw for both families and I started a pot of beans in the slow cooker which will be tomorrow nights dinner. We leave very early in the morning for Apple Valley to get my daughter and her family moved. Sadie will ride with me and Bella, her doggie friend, hoping it will settle Sadie a bit since she tends to get car sick. Bella doesn't and she loves to ride in the car. Sadie and I will drive home alone on Saturday in the late afternoon.

What is everyone working on now? Any of it going to be for Christmas? Maybe later on we can do a crochet ornament swap or something similar.

I'm stuck at work, been here all day so I'm about 1/2 done. It has been busy today, lots of falls and seizures. Usually thanksgiving isn't this busy, hoping a busy day will mean an easy night.

Betty-You are so kind. I'm working on two things now with a third once the Fall squares arrive. The first is a shawl made of bits of homespun yarn. Because the yarn is so varied, the shawl will be small traditional granny squares. The second is an afghan made of a gorgeous variegated yarn a friend gave me. It took some experimentation, but I've settled on five rows of single crochet alternated with two rows of triple crochet. I hope to post a picture on "crochet chat" in the next couple of days to show how the pattern works (the afghan itself is just at the beginning.

Kassaundra-Thank you for the work you do. When I worked in trauma, Thanksgiving was often older people having (sometimes serious) digestive problems because, while usually subsisting on small diets, they then indulged in feasts. I hope you are well and can get some rest. Maybe Pebbles will share his quilt with you.

Well, my daughter and her hubby and boys are now in their new home. I drove over with them yesterday with Sadie and her friend Bella in the back seat and one of my grandsons for company. We all worked so hard yesterday and the dogs had so much fun in the new yard (about 3/4 of an acre). We were all in bed by 10 and up by 6 this morning. When I went to bed I slept on my inflatable mattress and Sadie laid with me but Bella, the golden Retriever and Harley, the German Shorthair came in and gave me goodnight kisses. They've never done that before.
On the way home, just Sadie and me, we had a good trip with not much traffic. Poor Sadie drooled all the way since she tends to get car sick. She had an empty stomach so it was just drool. She did sleep most of the 2 hour trip. Since coming home she looks for the other dogs and has this "where have they gone look." She ran all over looking for them but this evening she has settled down and seems to be accepting the situation. We played ball this afternoon and I brought her a new toy back from town. And they call it a dogs life......

An ornament swap sounds super fun! I've only made snowflakes and angels before but I'd love to try something new. If it was a smaller swap I could squeeze it in. Right now I am working on a quilt for my youngest GD.

Awwww poor Sadie! Thank goodness she has an attentive owner to keep her occupied. Shepherds do love to run. So great that the kids are in the new house now!!!

For all of you that have worked in the medical field and had to work holidays....I can relate. Even if I had the holiday off, I was often called in to help. I retired from the hospital in "03 and miss it in a way and don't in others.

I had my first quiet at home day. Spent it cleaning out the linen closet since I had a lot of wash that would go back in there so thought it was a good start on my house cleaning. The next room is the guest room so I can get my sewing machine back in there and get back to quilting. I'm making a crocheted blanket for a future great grandchild. It's mostly white but will have green and yellow in the blocks around the center of it.

I don't have time for anymore swaps since I'm playing catch up on housework and gardening but the idea of a snowflake or ornament swap would be good for the middle of summer when we want to think cool thoughts .

I like the idea of a summer swap much better. Right now is a tough time to add anything else to the to-do list.

Here's the most recent puppy pics. I know it's taken me forever but it's hard to get 5 puppies to hold still. 1 was sold and 2 more will be going soon but here's the 5 that are still here. They are 3 months old now and they average 26lbs ea.
