The two muscovy are back to rude health. They are now eating brewer's yeast with their pellets (as is the third muscovy who didn't have symptoms.) I just stopped adding Rooster Booster Poultry Cell to their water.@ruthhope

I think mine have the routine down to. But they do act like im killing them when i lock them up for the nightThere's always one...
The young ones have the routine down. I lock up the older ducks and the young ones get out of the pond and head to their area. Once I'm in their area Moe, Larry and Curly get inside their house. Shemp, on the other hand, can't seem to manage it. She then has the nerve to act like I'm going to eat her when I have to catch her to put her in.
They all still run from me even if I have treats. Ungrateful critters.
On a side note...
I can't tell them apart. Just names I use for them.
#2 They all quack! Yay!
As soon as my husband gets around to building the new duck house there will be a new routine to learn. For the adults too.I think mine have the routine down to. But they do act like im killing them when i lock them up for the night
Mine are almost 6 weeks old but no quacks yet so I don't know what to think. I am hoping for at least 2 girls but I know my luck. If the eggs came from my one Mallard duck she usually throws off all boys. I am going to catch them again at 8 weeks old and listen to them. They are skittish of me but come within 6 feet for treats. They do go back in the pen. I spread my arms and make the sound of a Hawk all the while telling them to go in the pen. If it wasn't for the privacy fence between me and the neighbors I am sure I would be committed by now, lol. There's always one...

Mine are almost 7 weeks. I do use hand waving to get them where I want to go as I tell them to "Go to bed". LOL I also have the dreaded blue net to use if they are too stubborn to get out of the pond.Mine are almost 6 weeks old but no quacks yet so I don't know what to think. Smart move. I just let mine hatch out of 4 eggs that hatched. I knew it was risky but I figured I would advertise the boys and if they don't go as much as I hate it we have a friend that feeds his family with them. My husband has to do it while I am not home as I can't be around when they go. It's hard to have drakes born.Mine are almost 7 weeks. I ordered females but you never know. Glad that's how it turned out.
I am hoping in another two weeks I will know one way or the other for sure. The longer I keep them the harder it is.Smart move. I just let mine hatch out of 4 eggs that hatched. I found a great all rubber net at our Walmart in the fishing department a couple of years ago. It is a Godsend. My other nets all got tangled in their wings and feet, this one has no tangling to it at all. It's so much easier on the ducks.Mine are almost 7 weeks.
