Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

I totally get that. Every time I move sand I think to myself, what the heck am I doing???? I hurt my foot trying to take the lids off of some of my duck waterers. I ended up with a boot on for over a week and then after the MRI it showed no break which was a blessing for me. No boot now because I never needed it in the first place. What we don't do for these ducks!!! lol
He has to haul in the sand for the duck area and chicken coop which is why he said no to moving rocks. LOL
Luckily the foot wasn't broken. My husband dropped something that weighs a few hundred pounds onto my toes the end of September. I wasn't so lucky. Still have nerve pain and other issues with my big toe. Had to wear a "shoe" because a boot wouldn't work.

My husband did help me move some of the sand when I moved it a couple of weeks ago but now with all of this rain the pen is muddy in places and I need to put in more. It seemed after a few moves of it he would disappear on me, lol. I know when I am 6 feet under they will be joining me in heaven shortly after. There will be a neighborhood Duck Roast, I can see it in the cards. The ducks keep praying I will outlive him but he is younger so time will tell. lol

What kind of filtration do you have for the duck pond @Lor ?

I recently discovered that my ducks will actually line up to go to bed as soon ad I open the door if they like my treats enough.

I started giving them treats after the chickens went to bed so I could make sure the ducks got more niacin. Last night (despite the attractive puddle the sprinkler made) my ducks all followed me into the chicken run! No herding required!

.... Turns out my ducks think egg shells with nutritional yeast is amazing! (Tbf, it's not their every day treat, it was just the treat last night. Sometimes their treat if fermented feed. Sometimes its spinach, sometimes it's kitchen scraps. Sometimes it has yeast, sometimes not. So long as it's outside of a normal feeder, they think its a treat)

My husband made it so I don't have a clue.
Waterfall is slowing and he thinks the pipes are clogged. That's not going to be a fun job. We had no issues with it for years, so guess it's not so bad. LOL
Well mines just a filter that water comes in with a pump then goes through some stuff and back out. It works for like 3 days
