Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

Nesting boxes installed in the Waddle Inn, this is an experiment to see if they will like them and if so which ones they will choose. Nine of them ranging from 14 inches tall 18 inches wide to 12 inches tall 24 inches wide, all of them 16 inches deep. Pretty close to dimensions of a bucket that I see some use.

No one going in yet, guess I need to wait for them to start dropping eggs first. Time to get roosting bars up, ducks in the brooder have feathers now and keets are almost 6 weeks ago. Time for them to get out next week.
It tends to take at least a couple of days if not a couple of weeks before the birds will get used to something enough to go hide in it.

Even switching coops takes 3 days or so. (At least in my experience)

I got a hawk problem that started yesterday, so might be longer. Geese seem to be getting them inside in time and fierce enough to fight them off, even the gimpy duck is fine after two days of attacks.

The hawks are crazy here this last week too
Several times with us right there they are coming down
Luckily so far they haven’t got any but I’m very scared
My goose is ti young to do her job yet

I was so excited
My ducks are not abusing me today
I planted and grew my own pumpkins for my ducks
They are all enjoying todays first home grown pumpkin
A hawk will take down a goose too about the only thing one can do is sound an alarm. Look up on youtube if you don't believe me. There use to be a video of a falcon taking down an adult Canada goose.
thats what I mean. She isn’t sounding the alarm

When the huge red tail flew in and got my bantam hen all the ducks and the geese were up against the gate scared to death. The only reason I knew anything was even going on was my rooster was making a racket inside the coop. I went out to see what was going on that is when I found the ducks and geese up against the gate and the redtail flying off. That thing looked like a 747 flying over the coop.

It’s so scary to watch
I was shaking myself and it never got mine
Just how fast they are
Didn’t even see it coming and all of a sudden it was on the ground 5 feet or less from me
This one was a younger one
Not as large as I have seen flying over
The bigger ones do far have not come down but a hungry bird has no limits
