Funny story to add
When my daisy went broody the first time being pekin I was told she probably won’t sit long
Well she sat 30 days and was a great sitter but all the babies died but one who I had to steal the egg to assist. Bruised the wrong end
She was new to laying and her eggs were on the small side without assisting they couldn’t hatch as they got stuck in the egg
So I switched out the baby with a chicken egg so she kept sitting while I helped this baby hatch
Finally little hope was up and ready to be put back with mom
Daisy came out to get a drink so I put baby and her egg she hatched from in the nest
Well hope started to chirp and daisy freaked out and lunged at baby who was coming out to see her
Nobody told me my little diva daisy would be scared of her own baby lol
This time around she sat for a week taking such good care of her eggs till one night I brought in one of the other ducks to treat for start of bumble foot. Emerald decided to walk in the crate and sniff the nest
Diva daisy never went back in
Now the eggs are in my bator
She use to go in and lay her egg everyday in there
It’s her favourite crate
But lord forbid somebody else went near it
She now is laying her eggs outside of it and last night I saw her laying in front of the crate
My daisy is a very high strung duck and gets all worked up over any type of change

My girls get what they want, when they want- Ice water? Strawberries? It's to the point where they assume they get whatever I'm eating! And they *dont*

But I was once enjoying an ice-cream, summer day, listening to the song birds...
out of nowhere Sprightly just LUNGES up like a missile at it!
She hardly got a nibble, but she got mud on it and I had to throw it out
This is why you PAY the tax people!!!

I found a big wiggler once, dropped it in front of her and she ran in terror and hissed at it....Her reaction totally confused Dougie who also ran in alarm because of the fuss. But Dougie quickly came back, and gobbled it down.

When I lift their pool up, I let them get the bugs underneath, Dougie stomps and gobbles them all down, Sprightly follows her, grabbing occasional mouthfuls of mud and then spitting it out.

I think she's a few crayons short of a set, if you catch my drift.

How cold does it get where you are? I’ve always heard they don’t do well in the cold so I assumed anywhere it got subzero would be a no go for them, but if it’s possible….

Well, I live in Europe, so we use Celsius over here. That being said, it never gets below 17F (thank you google) over here, so I'd guess it's a big difference
