In the Brooder
My “Buff Orpingtons” also look to me much more like RIRs. Wont make a difference what the turn out to be, I’d just like to know for curiousity’s sake. They were all hatched 4/28/17.

They’ve got a nice demeanor and are good layers- though one is a bit broody she’ll give us an egg here and there and isn’t too proud to come off the clutch with a little prodding.Yes, very pretty girls indeed, I would love to have some of my own someday!
Thanks! Of course the pullets I could clearly identify (one a speckled sussex and one for sure a buff Orpington), are the two that didn’t make it. Have subsequently fixed up an avian net over a substantial sized yard for some aerial predator protection.Your 'orps' look like what we, in the UK, call Ginger Rangers or Black Tailed Columbians....a hybrid layer...an RIR x Light Sussex. Your speckled Sussex are definitely NOT speckled Sussex at all but I'll let other guess on the breed of those....they have beautiful pencilling though xx
