Surgery a few days ago, was doing great, now lethargic

@Ccort, how's Maybelle doing today?
Hi!
Her stool is finally looking good and her bloodwork is also. She is not yet eating on her own but will finish her meds Monday, so hopefully she'll start eating then. The vet says she has pendulous crop so I am now researching more about that.

She seems quite perky today, which makes me smile! It sounds like the pendulous crop will mean we'll have a lot of issues going forward but hoping we don't.

They beat up Maybelle!

Just on her beak, from what I can see. The upper left side portion has a piece that is hanging off and looks like maybe the top part is pushed upward?

Is this serious? Is it painful? PXL_20221015_224130646.jpg PXL_20221015_223309489.MP.jpg PXL_20221015_223255186.MP.jpg PXL_20221015_223407999.MP.jpg

She will be okay, but you should keep her separated. She has been away from the flock for a bit and they are asserting their dominance on her as a result. Bunch of bullies. Their beaks are made up of keratin, similar to human nails. As long as there is not blood it will regrow on its own. Poor Maybelle! Keep her in with you until she is 100% and then you can work on getting her back in the flock.

If you look at the top pic..the bottom of her beak...it looks like blood to me. I'm not sure where that blood even came from?
Is this going to cause her pain or possibly fall off when tube feeding?

She absolutely cannot get a break. :(
