Surgery a few days ago, was doing great, now lethargic

How does it feel to the touch? Im interested about the darkening areas of the beak. Is it scabbing on the tip where it was bleeding before?

I'm not pressing hard on it but it feels pretty normal to me. She has the darkened areas though and then those fleshier/redder spots.

My pullet had surgery last Friday for an oviductal impaction. She seemed to be doing great. However, today, she is suddenly very lethargic. I don't know what is wrong. The vet who did surgery is two and a half hours away. Advice?

Decreased appetite as well. Stool looks normal. Her crop is nearly empty. 26 weeks old. She cannot seem to keep her eyes open, she's so fatigued/lethargic.

I gave her probiotic water with a bit of sugar added in. Put her back on the antibiotic/antiinflammatory prescribed by vet.

Still, advice appreciated.

I'm replying this thread because my rooster tootoo go through from a Major comb surgery where he lost a huge amount of blood and recovered happily i did his surgery by my hands without any anesthesia (because it's dangerous for avinas) and he healed without any issues that's why I'm aware that getting lethargic is not a good sign ..
The point you should ask your vet is

Which anesthesia they use ?
How much dose they give to ur pullet
Is there any heavy blood loss ?
How she react once she is home?

Now , chances that she's in pain because Oviduct removal in avians is not very successful (I've been watching some fellow friends on IG who attempted this and their chickens not recovered)

Second, give her time and some pain medications plus vitamins that give her strength.

Third , you should call your vet who did this surgery because he know what he did she he have some more depth

Fourth, time will tell
Sometimes all efforts seems like paused we only need to wait and see how it moves .

But i want to say this the chances of her living is high as she survived all the 7 days post surgery so keep a eye on her maybe she is just healing her way to fully recovered my all prayers

The beak looks ouchy, for sure. But the fact that she's eating is AMAZING!!!!
