Surviving Minnesota!

Oh no!! You two beat me! I knew I should have peed my pants, not made coffee or answered Emails before saying "good Morning"

Had I done things a little different I would have won. It sure sounds like winter outside. I worked on boxes for hauling chickens yesterday. However, I had to leave early to go to a meeting.

I hope to finish them today. I have no meetings today :thumbsup.
That I know of. I do have to make a trip to Benton County and do some things up there but it can wait until next week. Also in case any of you were wondering, I will not be getting an endorsement from Al Franken.

I had a long talk with Cuddles yesterday, he claims he is trying to grow feathers back. I have my doubts. I have one little and I mean little CLB pullet I am thinking of pulling if we have enough pullets at the show. She is just too young to compete. On the other hand, she would make a great therapy comfort chick for me. She just loves to be cuddled. She is not real bright though. Yesterday when I opened her cage she walked toward me to be held, I think, and walked right into space and fell to the ground. She made no attempt to flap her wings or break her fall. Have named her " Canook".

My thanksgiving day guest managed to jump his electric fence yesterday. There was only my corn suppliers turkey inside the fence. I found hm grazing inside the chicken barn in the feed tank. I shut the doors, chased him for an hour or two finally caught him and threw him back over the electric fence. He is easy to tell his flight feathers are trimmed short. I may have to trim them shorter.

Went out this morning and it was pretty warm (4:30) But then after work it is freezing. Of course it is going to turn cold, I have 3 molting, one hasn't started, and cluck-cluck is too busy being sick. Terrible sour crop, dragon breath. I don't think she'll pull through this one :hit I hate to think like that but she doesn't seem to be getting better. not eating or drinking today
Tomorrow we get to go on a "Team builder" at work with the people in my area, we are going trap shooting, should be pretty fun. I probably won't be able to hit anything. I've only done the spring loaded ones, not the actual trap set up, so we'll see. suppose to be windy as well, 22mph , so yeah...should be pretty interesting.

Cluckies - I did the apple cider vinegar routine in the water for that little sick bird I inherited. I am sure she had sour crop. I left her in the house in a kennel over a weekend we were gone with the ACV and fermented food (what I read said that they really do not need any food for a couple days) Seems to have cleared her up completely and she is thriving. Just sayin to you in case it could work.

I should try that on the stupid bird

On the little CLB that walks toward and falls without trying to catch herself? My little CLB is that perfect lap bird. Really doing well now. So proud of her. And little 'Shimmer', the one surviving hatched chick is picked on by everyone now. She sure is purty. Dark eyes that are pretty cool to look at.
