Surviving Minnesota!

I have 10 pullets which 5 have started laying eggs within the past 4 weeks. Most days I get 3 or 4 eggs. Yesterday I was surprised to get 5 eggs. Today, I only got 2. Is the low number of eggs due to our current cold snap and first snow fall? My chickens did not like the snow and stayed in their coop almost all day yesterday, and today, a low number of eggs. Just wondering if colder weather can have that much influence on their egg laying? Thanks.

It is to bad that Hutch is my only show this fall, give it one more month and my Cochin hens would be looking really good! Sometime this week I need to get down and clip nails and beaks, that's one thing that bantams would be nicer in. It's hard enough to do it yourself, definitely can't do it by myself on crutches though

mine slow down when they stay in the coop...I believe it's darker in the coop and it is known that length of daylight makes a difference

So my little tractor is down for repairs . Water pump ordered . New glow plugs installed but injector pump had to be removed to install glow plugs . Hmmm seems timing of the pump is off . Ugh I was afraid of that . So water pump will be in in a day or two . Cutting firewood . Always something to do . Jocko sharpened my saw chains my last trip up north . He is the best sharpener . I quit doing my own and the local sharpener guys are better than me but not as good as Jocko .
