I think the color is buff actually. I had a couple of white ones. I have a hen right now who has problems with balance, and I just take her to a dust bath and do it for her every few days. She looks at me afterwards like I am crazy.

Yeah, that's what I found. I wonder if anyone's tried breeding a red silkie? I bet it'd be beautiful. Haha, that hen must be so confused! I can't even bathe Swirly. I have to damped a cloth and get a dry one and just run it over her. She hates it XD

For what it's worth... Don't remember who, but somebody told me to get Polyviflor without iron. It's a vitamin supplement for babies and you give a dropper full each day. I have had 2 different chickens get cured of wryneck using that.

That's what Cin gave me as they were using it, but she wasn't improving. I give her that once a day, usually in the night feeding, only 4 drops.

I used polyvisol with my wry neck chick, I do think it helped along with the egg in her crumbles. But something I've noticed about this hen, she's 1 year old now, she is double the size of my other faverolles who are the same age! Also, her feathers on her face grow out of control!! No joke, if I don't give her a haircut regularly, she can't see! I often wonder if her large size and extra fluffy face are a side effect of 4 weeks of polyvisol!

Maybe. Extra anything will cause something to grow bigger.

Trying to figure out a DIY dustbath for Swirly. I'm thinking I can get some really fine sand or something at Home Depot (hey, only a few bucks for a 50lbs bag?), maybe some kind of soil? I'd use what's outside, but Spring's here, don't need bugs in the house, lol. I'm not bringing her outside until she can hold her head up strongly and move forward. Plus, the hawks around here will target her pretty fast.

Make sure she has some chick grit available if she's going to be eating new stuff like grass. If she's just on crumbles and egg, she's ok without it.
