I guess that I am a little confused. If all you are interested in is Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures then why would you go to recent posts at all? Wouldn't it be faster to go to the index and click on that forum? All the questions would be there in the order that they were posted and nothing else would distract from the seriousness of the posts. Wouldn't Recent posts be just that, and if that is social or games then that is what is also being done here on the site.
Don't get me to wrong mostly I am playing devils advocate with these thoughts. I just know that if you start something like this then where do you stop?
I agree! Some of those games are just dumb and they show up on the recent post thing first, when there could be a chicken that is seriously sick, dieing, that needs help. When those games show up, instead, there could be a dead chicken within the next five minutes.

If the whole social section was taken out of the Recent Posts lists then would it really be so bad? I'm not talking about removing them from the forum altogether, they would still be easy to find for those who want that kind of thing, but I for one am sick of logging on to byc and immediately being asked what I am wearing. Why the heck is that of any interest to anyone? It is getting ridiculous IMO. The Games section could be accessed from the Index page and the recent posts could be just chicken related topics. No one gets excluded or favoured that way. Seems like a win win to me.
I agree. My biggest peeve is the "Crazy" whatevers flavor of the day is. Or the "Let's see how much www. space we can waste" threads. How many smilies can I post to boost my post count. Not realizing that a cleanout will erase them all.
I love the teens/tweens and playful adults - but this is alledgedly a chicken forum.... I also do NOT want the social side to disappear, I enjoy it in a limited manner. But I don't want to see the Games take over.
If the games & jokes are out, because their not chicken related, then I guess these have to go too.......
Arkansas folks speak up,
Native American heritage, anyone?
Okies in the BYC,
Hey Grandpa, What's for supper?
The 4th "count as high.........
They're not chicken related, but I enjoy reading, like...... Games & Jokes.
That isn't fair. Our younger members deserve to enjoy themselves as much as anyone. there's not always some emergency to talk about, thank goodness. And I don't have even a dog anymore, so I can't talk about her anymore, want to send me one?
The Games section is what keeps everything fun instead of depressing, boring questions or 'OMG my chicken is sick oh no oh no!' or 'RIP my chicken died' or 'my chicken is a roo and I must rehome him,
' Has no one realized the chicken section is where the most hysterics happen, and, with the exception of a occasional Family Life rant, the Social forum is a break from all that?
There's worse things 9-16 year olds could be doing, no offense.
Please don't drain all the fun out of BYC, keep our Games Section.

No one said to get rid of them, just remove them from Recent Posts... if you have slow internet like I do, it's also a very painful process to wait for page after page to load when all you see is silly stuff.
i think that the games and jokes should be kept in recent post because if you take them out and some1 that knows what they are doing but just feel like seeing games and jokes atm will go to games and jokes section instead of recent post where there would be an emergency they could help with for those ppl that say this is a chicken forum and should just be chicken related stuff nobody can talk about chickens every hr without some kind of entertainment teens or adults dos not matter maybe being able to select what sections you want to come up with in recent post on youre profile

Amen and that's all I am saying.
It's a chicken site for learning up front first and foremost or use to be.
