I really like this idea too.
I have to admit, I'm really starting to feel like the bad guy here. That was not my intention. I never once said I thought the G,J,F section should be taken away, quite the opposite in fact. I don't want to cause any conflict or create an uncomfortable situation between members. I stated that I liked the fact that BYC attracted members of all ages and I maintain that it should stay that way. But this section of the site is for forum feedback and I was exercising my right to give mine. I was simply asking if there was a way to hide the many many games posts that appear in Recent Posts.
I am very sorry if I have made you feel bad. You have a valid request. I was just trying to see both sides of the point, and or the possible outcome. The suggested outcome that Terrie came up with would be fabulous, even if it doable.
I also felt that for the first few pages that this thread was rather lopsided with only one opinion. I must say that it is nice to read a variety of opinions, not just my own. I do hope that everyone reads enough, that they are aware that it was never suggested that the games be removed from the site. The entire discussion has only been about removing the games and jokes from the recent posts.
I would rather have some kids playing here on this site than messing around doing who knows what. I have observed that there are a number of the kids that are learning about chickens, and the care of birds here. Maybe they don't post, as much as they are reading. I know of a lot of people that are reading, and not posting anything. I am also capable of ignoring some of thing that some post. I have had a hard time ignoring some of the adults, but dear lord I am doing my best to avoid some of them. It is a learn process for me.
I have to wonder why it matters how many posts a person has. I don't think it has to be a competition.
So please don't feel bad about making people think. It is very good for humans to think. Myself included.
