I know you are not wanting to debate and neither am I ~ I am an artist so I just want to chime in and say that yes, it is art as is dancing, music, film, writing, sculpture, painting, drawing, etc. It is the skill of creating a design which provokes feelings, emotion and passion.

Thats all ~ just wanted people to try and look at it another way.

But if I'm walking through the store and I see someone with a bunch of tatoos my mind automaticly goes ew.

wouldn't that be judging someone on their looks? Kinda bunks your previous statement

You'll notice you won't see many people with tatoos with important desk jobs wearing suits. Because it's not eye appealing to the majority of the population. And it makes a person no matter how nice, seem kind of rebel, and irresponsible.

NICE, you know that those responsible people in suits are just hiding them. Yeah, i had a desk job and i wore a suit! So that just goes to show how your wrong, LOL

Funny thing is this KINDA irresponsible person is a mother of 3 and foster mother as well. Drug tested, finger printed and background checked through the FBI. WOW, "kinda" irresponsible don't you think??

And to add, you have the right to think as you do! No hard feelings

Thank you for your opinion GaNewChick. Everyone should see both sides. I will repharse mine. It is Art. As it is drawing and coloring just on a different surface than paper.

But just because it is 'Art'. Doesn't mean it's good to look at in certain peoples mind.

I mean. Look at Picasso and other painters like that. How in the heck they are counted as famous Artists I will never know. I wish I could draw some squiggy lines on a paper and call it adstract.

But somehow he is one of the most well known painters.

See it's all in preferences.

ETA.

Sillystunt. I said 'you won't see many'. I know there are some that cover them up.

And I didn't say you were irresponsible. I said it gives off the impression to some people.

Please don't take me wrong. I don't want to upset or argue with anyone.

You guys are pulling my leg here... is this really a serious discussion?

Hubby wants a tat, wife doesn't agree and somehow if he did what he wants to do, this might lead to upset in the marriage or worse a divorce?

I can't believe that this would change how she FELT about you, after all you are more than the condition of your skin, and I'm certain she has her "quirks" as well.

While I think there should be compromise & consideration for the other partner's feelings, that does not mean doing without something you want IMO. I would feel so sorry for my husband if he felt that if I got another tattoo that it was somehow a dealbreaker.

I dunno, we're totally liberal though, and believe that each of us deserve to be exactly who we want to be, and supported the whole way. Maybe that's WHY we love each other.

I understand, that's why i made sure the KINDA was in there. It was the catch 22...LOL And the no hard feelings

I wrote it to let you know that "some" people who do judge could have it wrong. And COULD being my catch 22 cause some people with tatt's are irresponsable and just plain old scary!

Think about what it's gonna look like when you're old and you change shape.

I know one woman who got an eagle tatooed on something a bit north of her stomach ... gravity has taken it's inevitable hold, and now she pretends the tatoo is a butterfly ...

Nope no hard feelings.

I have many many friends and family with Tatoos and I love them all the same.

I also know many people without tats that are just plain scary.

Tatoos do not change or decide who a person is. It's just a style like clothing.

Whether or not people find it attractive is all an opinion.

Thats what makes us all special. Our differences, and styles.

I think people can choose to be or do whatever they want to be.

But I just won't be going to a tatoo parlor anytime soon.

(Not to mention the fact I am scared to death of needles.)
