Tattoos

About the whole needle thing I didnt even see them, the way the lady held the tattoo gun thing it looked like a pen or something. I think the most pain was about a minute into it, I felt it slicing it seemed and noticed a little blood but not much after.

I saw a guy with a weird looking tattoo on the back of his head, it seems like that would hurt, its just skin and bone up there.

It doesn't really hurt that much. Go grab a bamboo skewer and scratch your ankle with it. It will hurt a little more than that. It does hurt even more where there is less fat on the bone. The ankle probably would not feel too terribly good. Knowing meditation helps and when I went in to get mine a friend suggested sucking on lifesavers when they were going over bone. It didn't hurt enough to need it but it's a suggestion. My suggestion for the OP is to go bigger for more detail but the advise is a bit redundant since it seems everyone has the same thought.

Thanks everyone. I will probably take the plunge but I just need to come up with my design on paper so whomever I go to will be able to do what I want.

I have 8 tattoos all that I have drawn myself except the one my grandma wrote on me and then I had tattoo'd. I love them all the next one is already done on paper and I was hopin hubby was gonna get it for me for mothers day but alas the goober didnt. It will be for and about my crib midget. I saw one of the other members feels odd about a big back tattoo in her wedding not that there is anything bad with that I was just the total other side of the table. I got a dress that showed off my tattoos. I figured if I had to wear a dress I was going to be proud of what I have. My dad passed when I was a kid and one of my shoulders has a tattoo in his memory. I have spent many hours and way to much $$ but I wouldnt trade it for nothing. Ooo I also have a blacklight tattoo that you can not see in normal lighting I got it a handful of years ago when they first started doing them and its just as bright as the day I got it. As far as pain to each is different I have not had one that hurts and I am a total wuss when it comes to needles. Tattoos never faze me and I have many that are detailed large.

Actually the itching is the worst part, mostly because you can't scratch. I have six tatts 2 on each arm, 1 on chest and 1 on my back. Though there really is not that much pain you can get sick, or pass out. Just a body response in some people. A good plan is to take a couple aspirin and Tylenol an hour before, they can be taken together. The first one may sting because your body will be tight from expectation of pain, normal body response.

Save your money, but most tatt artists I know won't do much for $20 unless your really good friends. Price not only goes by size but also by the amount of detail. I think most artists would not think $20 was worth sterilizing needles and machines for.

The place I got it done at does $20 tuesdays, $30 thursdays, and used to do $40 fridays. Tuesdays is no more than a 2x2 or a 1x4 or whatever. Thursdays is 3x3, and Fridays and 4x4. They said that there arent any limits other than size, I could have gotten a solid 2x2 square, lol.

I finally found the rooster I want to get, I was on feathersite and the picture just stood out to me. http://feathersite.com/Poultry/Games/BRKGames.html he is the Oxford OEG cockerel from the UK, it is the one with the blue background and sand color floor. Of course I would change the spurs and fix the tail, maybe see what the artist add her touch to it. I dont care about the price, I want that rooster, lol.
