Texas

Oh so sorry ! I love my dogs but they have been responsible for a few (3) deaths round here (my hubby "trained them to leave chickens alone" ...when he is supervising.) We no longer let them mingle. Why can't we all just get along?
Good luck with the chick whatever you decide.
Really sorry about those losses. They hurt. Especially getting that far, past the anticipation and incubation to loose them right after you just meat them. Hurts. Brooding White Rock hatched some EEs for me day before but one glance at another Rock pecking a chick down to the ground hard, I knew. Remove chicks altogether and now I’m mom.😊

I don't miss the white stuff at all. I use to live North of McKinney. We use to get snow and ice every year, sometimes more snow than ice.
Of course there is some snow up here, if moisture makes it this far north west to the South Plains. We’ve had 3 ~1” snows so far . Pretty for an hour maybe intime for coffee. I actually like and live looking out at it, but do not care for it when the melt happens. But it is great moisture for the grasslands.

Howdy @Aggiedusty :frow

I see you made the trip over! :D Welcome to the Texas thread, take your shoes off, sit a spell, "chew the fat". We're a pretty chatty bunch at times.

Most of the folks here are asleep right now but they'll be along when they get up!
What does that mean. Someone gonna be around in the morning? Hahaha. It’s bed time for me too. I’m still quite slow with filling waterers, and carrying feed buckets, and gathering eggs. Takes me twice the time anyone else. These knees may be new but they still don’t feel like mine. I had warm My knees down so heavily that my bowl leggedness had become an issue. Dr Shephard straightened my legs up very upright. I don’t know how to walk with straight legs!

Oh, how I understand completely, I'm still recovering from a spill I had over a year ago. Broke my hip while feeding one day, it healed and as I was going to the doc to get released, to work, it broke again, from the 1st surgery. Layed flat on my back for over a year! :(
I'm sure @AllenK RGV and @Kiki and a few others will be along to say Welcome when they wake up! ;)

I know we must be similar in age and laying flat for any seriously long period takes so much conditioning out of us.

It’s impossible to recover all that is lost and only by therapy or regular exercise is it possible to recover any of it really. My legs are still much weaker than before surgeries. I’m just now walking quite a bit without a cane. It’s not recommended.
