The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

I agree! After spending so much money on pure breeds, I've decided these are more fun. I will spend money once in a while on silkie or Bantam Cochin eggs.

I like the not knowing what they are going to turn out like! Always fun when they are a surprise surprise

I have 7 healthy babies out of the 8 that went into lockdown. Didn't really expect this! Ron, barn yard mixes aren't only cute, they seem to hatch out pretty strong/sturdy. The one I was worried about with the real soft tummy is doing great today. :)

7/8 is great Cynthia :D I found that my mixed breeds were strong birds too. I crossed an Amber hybrid hen with a frizzle polish and they were super strong birds. Looked a tad quirky but nice. The boys also ended up with a bit of meat on them.

I started my eggs a hour ago 10.00am sharp.First 8 days my eggs stay big end up I don't touch or turn my eggs till day 8 or 9 .Day 9 I will candle eggs and move them to incubator with automatic egg turner. Then day 18 I will move back to incubator I started them in.I only move them back because incubator it is bigger giving hatched chicks room to move around
