A standard gives you a starting point. Its what makes an Aseel different from a Serema. The breeder takes the standard and works toward preserving the breed by matching the entire package to that standard. If its a breed of hunting hound, a Barzona Bull, an Aseel chicken. It’s important to first asess the total animal. It’s look, temperament, intelligence, ability, etc. Where breeding fails is neglecting one spect to the detriment of another. With our beloved birds gaminess is an important aspect. Only by continuing to breed birds with that entire package of ability, gaminess, look, size, color… whatever will that breed continue.
