THE CHEEPS ALMOST GOT ME!!!

OMGosh! This is great and I can relate. Ugh. I promised myself that I would not brood anymore chicks and then have to go thru the whole hideous integration process, aint nobody got time for that!. So, I got 2 little bantam cochins for their broody natures, I am only going to get more chicks when one of my existing flock goes broody! Then I will either give her fertile eggs or day old chicks.

Now it is chick season and I am fighting myself constantly! Begging one of my girls to go broody. One of the little cochins has decided to molt instead! :he:th

Lol! You know I said the exact same thing after the Hobo integration craziness. Obviously I don't listen to myself got more in the incubator "only three though so it doesn't count right?" :)

I cannot trust myself with an incubator! Ohhhh I want one so so so bad, but I just cant. I tend to go wayyy overboard in any obsession/hobby I pick up. You are so brave!

Sounds like we all have MCS (Multiple Chicken Syndrome). I have two bantam house chickens, and they won't wear diapers. But I found that an old sheet or towel as a drop cloth works just fine because their droppings are relatively dry--a lot drier than parrot poop. (I have multiple parrots, too). I put Sweet PDZ in the Chicken's sleeping house. Smell has really not been a problem. I've smelled people's homes who own an Iguana and that is 100x more stinky than a house chicken. You just have to keep them clean. And I found out that Chickens don't poop when they're lying down, so when they lie on my lap to watch t.v., no droppings come out at all. It's really only the cecal droppings that smell. The other kind doesn't.

Looks like I need to go sniff my chickens too! I just hope the sheriff's not around, cause I don't want to go to the state hospital today!:lau

Do it!! I declare today to be...

"National Smell Your Chickens Day"!!!! lol!

OK, I'm back from sniffing my chickens.
Funny, they smell the same as they did yesterday!:idunno:idunno

You don't get that warm, chicken-scented whiff of happiness when you huff their necks? Oh man, I live for that smell!
