Im so sorry, I can't imagine how you must feel. Just knowing some lowdown creeps were slinking around your property....Please be sure and get word out around the neighborhood. You never know what people have heard. And offering a bit of a reward for information, you may well get some information that will lead to the crooks.

if you can go to 1 of the stores its better,, the sensors run on different channels,, and if you go into the store, you can pick out 2 or 3 on the same "channel" or get different channels for different "sectors" of ya land.
if someone wants some that have to be on the same channel,, and dont have a store near ya,,, let me know,, i can pick them up for ya and send

I would still try putting those eggs in the bator. I have seen eggs that had a roo and lost a roo fertile for up to 3 months. Worth a try, what's the worse that could happen you end up with rotten eggs. It would be worth a shot for me.

So sorry to hear about this. Have you tried looking on craigs list or ebay or checking with any livestock auctions to see if they are being offered for sale? Dumb idea probably, but what the heck, ya never know what people are thinking. Some people will steal anything if they think they can make some money with it. That sounds like an awful lot of chickens to just drive away and take home for the freezer, someone would have to know if a friend or relative suddenly came up with that many chickens to process. Maybe you should ask to have an article in the local paper or on tv.
Again, so sorry about your loss, and the fact that they were heritage chickens makes the loss so much harder. I hope those fools are caught and prosecuted for the full worth of the birds and for the value of trying to re-establish a new flock.

Did you send anyone eggs or birds in the past few years? I'm betting they would be understanding and work with you to get you a few eggs/birds to get things up and running again. I know I'd have eggs in the mail by now If you'd sent any to me.

I feel terrible for you. I like to think what comes around goes around so I'm hoping that the thieves are caught and punished. How awful to lose your family's bloodlines in such a way. It is disgusting!

Maybe some generous BYC member will give you some eggs from their pure breed stock !
