The final, fluffed up results of my hatch. :)

Ok i had been reading about different breeds and thought maybe he was really some kind of leghorn/ polish cross because he is really flighty and panics about everything. Now I see he has the same color legs as your cross. Not the green of EE's but leaning more towards a slate.

I just keep reminding myself of the story of the ugly duckling...
It's that splotchy look in no descernible pattern that makes them look dirty.

She got the slate legs from her Golden Campine father. Yours has such a heavy look....like the white parent wasn't a leghorn. Here is my guess which is probably so far off it isn't funny....but who knows!!! LOL I think he looks like one parent was a cornish (judging by facial features and the more beefy look) mixed with some lighter breed that had slate legs. So basically, a cornish cross that ISN'T a cornish cross (IE meat bird). Hmmmm.....too bad we can't find out if that is right.

Ummm....I just noticed something though, does he have feathered legs?

Oooh they are just too cute for words!!

Nope - no feathered legs nor does he have 5 toes. I think he is little compared to the RIR - he weighs about 1/2 as much.

Here is a head shot that makes me think polish cross:

Here is a better body shot from a few weeks ago - you can see the slate legs.

OH MY!!! LOL I missed the little bouffant thing going on in the first pic. Cute!!! He doesn't look as meaty in this one, either. Hmmm.........I still think he has a cornish looking face though. Cornish/polish mix maybe?

Mine dig holes in the yard too. They have been digging up an area that is all creeping charlie so they are actually doing me a favor.

I'm pretty sure he is talking about your babies right - not our side- conversation on "ugly yet loveable mutts"...

That could be. Are cornish distrustful and sneaky yet loveable?
My daughters boyfriend was watching him walk around the yard with his head bobbing and said he needed an IPod to make the image complete.

Yeah, I am pretty sure SHE is talking about the babies. LOL She is about to get some eggs from the same seller as my BLRW.

Though the uglylovable mutts are pretty darn cute, too!!!!!
