~The Forests of Avalon, A Dragon Roleplay~ 2

Adeline didn't look at Silv but she could feel his eyes boring into the side of her head, it was very uncomfortable. She stepped to the edge of the cliff bordering the path they had took up, partly unfurled her wings and shot a sly glance in his direction. "Best behavior now, no more screw ups." It wasn't just Silv who thought things were going to get ugly soon, although she had a slightly different idea of what 'ugly' meant. In order to maintain what little trust Silv had in her, along with Lilith, she would have to fight against Pelendava unless she somehow got word to them of her situation. Unfortunately with both Lilith and Silv watching her like a hawk, slipping away unnoticed was nearly impossible.

What greeted her near the central courtyards of the city was a scene bordering on choas. It looked as though nearly every dragon capable of battle, with training, was gathered together. Many were confused as to why they were there, as only the council was aware of Camilla's state, and some looked almost afraid. A few warriors were working their way through the crowd, trying to hush the rising voices, but they weren't having much success.

He eyed her sharply before throwing himself from the cliff edge and catching the air.
The wind was erratic, gusting upwards and sideways, down and against him. It added to his steadily sinking mood, piling on top of Lilith, Pelendava, Caronia and Adeline.
_____

Frill swore under her breath, wide-eyed at the spectacle before her. They were going to war.
She stepped into the frenzied mass, looking for anyone of rank or of the council. This was insanity, Avalon didn't have army.

Adeline followed him after a short moment of hesitation, she plunged downwards with her wings tucked against her sides to catch up with him before unfurling them to slow her rapid descent. The strong wings buffeted against her outstretched wings but her slim figure seemed to slice through them more then be thrown around by them.
_____

Amongst the choas, a familiar voice could be heard above the others. "Frill! Frill come over here!" It was Tanis, the young warrior who was about the same age as Frill. The slender dragoness forced her way between two other dragons and jogged over to Frill. "Camilla has declared war on Caronia, we're leaving tonight! Now!" Her eyes were wide and confused, she had hardly had a chance to get over the fact that Caronia was real after Henry was killed, now they were launching a full scale attack. It was suicide!

When they finally reached the ground he landed with a dull thud-thud, wings folding to his sides as he looked up at Adeline.
"Now we wait."
_____

"We're what?!" Frill asked the wild eyed Tanis, blown away, "We c-can't! What about training, no one has seen combat before!"

Adeline landed a bit quieter then Silv, due to her lighter weight and tucked her wings away. "Camilla will be here soon." She assured him. "I can feel it."
____

"We have training, at least the warriors do, but aside from the occasional rogue you're right. I don't know what she's doing, but it can't be anything good." She stole a glance at Camilla, who was staring stonily at the crowd of her warriors. "We're leaving tonight and attacking at dawn, you should get ready."

"You can feel it, eh? Feel anything else?" He snickered, ears rustling as his shook his head briskly to shake off the hum the wind had left in them, "Any surprizes, perhaps?"

___

"What about the council? They couldn't have agreed!" Frill protested, gesturing wildly at the crowd, "I saw Caronia, just a little piece of it and I know this just isn't sane!"

Adeline ignored his sarcastic remark and shook her head. "No"

____

"They didn't, I don't think. But they don't really have a choice now, she's the final autho---" Tanis didn't even have time to finish her sentance before Camilla gave a loud roar that silenced the hum of voices almost instantly.

"Tonight we fly to Caronia to avenge the death of Henry, do your city proud, fight well and fight with honor!" She commanded, sounding a bit like her old self. "We leave now!"

He continued to grin and snicker under his breath, sitting and scratching his chin absentmindedly.

Frill's face hardened and paled as Camilla roared on.
She looked back at Tanis, and back to Camilla. To war.

Adeline rolled her eyes and sat down, wrapping her tail carefully over her feet as she settled down to wait. She didn't know what Silv was thinking and it made her even more curious. If she thought he would have told she would have asked, but she figured he probably wouldn't. So they sat in a stoney silence.
____

Tanis's face mirrored Frill's for a second before she looked away. She would not cave to fear, she was better then that. Camilla wanted them to fight, so she would fight. Bring it on.

Around them the rest of the warriors began to take flight, forming the largest flock of dragons leaving Pelendava in centuries. Kyra was near the back, carrying a sac full of supplise that she would need to tend to the warriors. Arrow and some of the other learners flew beside her, carrying anything that she couldn't.

He glanced at her and back into an empty space above her head and miles away.
How to start? How long would it last and what would it take? If only he had gotten the time to scope out Avalon further and work his way closer to Lilith, he was going in blind.

___
We're all going to die, she thought, more out of anger than fear.
Camilla had clearly lost her mind, risking so much of what was comparatively so little. Tanis didn't and couldn't understand, not without seeing and knowing what she had and did. Jasper was there and she knew all to well who he now deemed worthy to spend his time with. She went livid at the thought, nose flaring and eyelids lowering.
For Avalon she would go, not for Camilla. She would confront Jasper if the situation called for it, she would be a warrior but not a fool.

(Poor Jasper, his only love :p)

Tanis flew behind Amaria and Mayella, their wings breaking through the air a bit and making it slightly easier for her to fly, similar to the idea of a flock of geese. It would be a long flight, she needed to conserve her strenth for the battle.

Maggie was across the flock from Tanis, but kept casting glances towards her daughter. She was worried about her safety, being one of the younger warriors. Her training would still be fresh, but training was never the same as actual combat. This was crazy.

Behind them in Pelendava, Stephan, Samuel and Gabriel stayed behind to hold the fort in case a passing rogue tried to take advantage of the absence of warriors. It wasn't so much a large attack that they were defending against, as Caronia would be too busy.
