The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

They are 8 1/2 weeks. You may recall he was the one everyone was so interested in seeing how he feathered in...They are from Sandy's eggs...I guess we will have to wait and see how he feathers in a bit longer. I'll tell you though his lacing is gorgeous on the few feathers he does have

Have you tried giving him some Vits. to his feed? Quite a few of us have had chicks especially cockerels be very slow to feather in, once they do they become quite handsome.

Oh good idea, I'll do that...hmm I have vitamins for water, and polyvisol drops but what do you use for the feed?

Just put some vits. in the waterers for him, it won't hurt the others acouple times a week or a drop of Poly on his beak once in awhile.

He is just slow feathering, lots of protein even. Some scrambled or boiled egg, tuna fish or cat food in a can once or so a week. Just like the needs of molting chickens.

8-1/2 weeks???? WOW. He looks incredibly small for that age. I have to be honest, I've never had one that slow to feather. Will be interesting to see how he grows out.

Kathy - That pullet is BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL !! How old is she??? And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the butts !! "I like big butts and I cannot lie." (Sir Mix-A-Lot lyrics are perfect for these orps !!)

Ok I'll take more pictures because he is very tall! just crouching down.....I'll try to get to it later today. Did you guys know The Today Show is coming to my house this morning with Rob/Nifty. THey are doing an interview and filming the chickens & coops I have

Yes, do take some more pictures, because it does not appear that he is crouching in that photo at all.

Very cool on THe Today Show...though I boycotted that show years ago !!! I did make such a huge fuss that one of the producers of the show actually called me, but I still refuse to watch it.

The camera batteries have been charging all night folks! Now I'm just counting down the hours until I get to go home from work and spend some much needed relaxation time in the yard with my Blorp (Blue-Orp

) babies and snap some photos for everyone.

ETA: Am I weird for actually missing my little ones while I'm not at home? 8 hours of work seems like torture!
Kathy, I LOVE the stance of the Blue girl, she know's she's gorgeous and she's not afraid to let anyone know!

I work from home, so I'm here all the time with my babies. I don't know what I would do if I had to leave home to work. My dogs have neve been left, so they would probably revolt.
