The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Haha, Julie.

Thanks for the offer, but I am currently occupied with hatching a fertile mutt duck egg my son brought home. It's on day 32 and is still kicking around, so unless there's some muscovy in the mix, it'll probably hatch all sickly... and have to be fed with a dropper every couple of hours... and amass huge vet bills. All because I swore I would never own a duck.

Hoss is beautiful. Send some of that growing-handsome-roosters mojo this way, will ya?

Jeremy- don't be too sure about your big butt Orps not flying- mine refuse to use the ramp yet, and fly down and fly all over the run. Skoche in particular - she wiggles down into the grass almost like a cat, then launches herself.

I am been trying to be so patient, but getting excited as Nov is quickly approaching

I have a bit of a theme going with my Orpingtons that I have gotten as eggs/chicks from BYC members – I like to name them with the first letter of the members name – See Bama girls all have “B” names. You all are so creative and knowledgeable, I am hoping for a list of “J” English names (from books, movies, real, made-up, landmarks, towns – not picky).

Wow, Henthymes he did great for a bird that age. he hasn't even got a full tail yet. he does have a great comb and looks like he has good type as well. Hope he will produce well for you

Horsefeathers your girls look like they are really going to be big. I have seen and have some really large pullets out of Tubby and BJ.
All I got to say is there are going to be some really good blacks all over the USA. Congrats.
