The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I have exciting news :) I have chocolate Bantam eggs growing baby chicks in my bator from Don right now.. Yep.. put them in on the 2/2 and I can see lovely veins all over ... Chocolate Chips coming soon.. lol :) thank you Don..:)

As always.. very nice birds Alton :)
Yeah. I just hatch third one out of my Don choc cross to mine. Also just hatched a really really fluffy fat blue chick that is so cute. I will take a few pics when they come out of the bator.
One more good news. I got one egg today out of my black pen. If this keeps up I will set a few next week to test fertility and maybe a few more will follow suit

I found this video on you tube with the English lavender cuckoo orpingtons. They are so gorgeous. Haha I love when I play videos from you tube and there is a crowing rooster and my freerangers outside the window start crowing and running around looking for the intruder lol.

Was noticing some of the different colored E. Orps don't looks as fluffy. For example, most of the pictures posted of the blacks, splashes, and blues look very fluffy and short backed. The pictures I have been seeing of the lavenders just look less fluffy and their backs seem a touch longer. Is it a lighting thing or is there an actual difference due to genetics? Thanks!
Lavender color is pretty new in the States. I think they worked on color in some cases and lost form. IMO English Lavender
Yes, at first everyone was going hog wild over the color here and totally not paying attention to form and stuff. But doesn't that bird have feathers on it's feet or it is my glasses? Looks like a Cochin. In fact it's shape and all says that to me.
