The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Oh I see you have been working your buffs.   Now the other picture is so dark.. I can't tell if he is a black or a blue.

Yea we have been working with the buffs we have a trio right now and our friend has the same line as us and are working on them too, we have to try to find another line because these are all the same line....

We hatched out some lovely chicks yesterday from Renies Peeps and Smith Hobby Farms.

The blues are from Smith Hobby Farms-Yellow bands (thasista, slongest) And the splash is from Renie-Red Band (ReniesPeeps)

I have a feeling that this little one is a boy based on the pattern of its top coat. How it goes from really drak on top then lighter underneath? Am I on to something???

Thanks to Smith Hobby Farms & Renies Peeps for the eggs!!!
Good Luck with them Michael ")

The first time I got chicks from Renie the babies where so chunky. Still to this day when I hatch from these birds the babies are still rollie pollies. You will enjoy them, they are very calm.

Yip, I just put eggs in the bator again today along with some buff. I have English imports coming this week, and blue, and black Australorp. Sportman's is just humming along with chicken, turkey, quail, pheasant, duck, goose, peacock.

Wow such great pictures today, everyone! Now I'm going to have to get out the camera too.

But I'm thrilled to report that one of the pullets I got from thedragonlady, hatched around Oct. 3rd, laid an egg today! I even got to watch her do it. She huffed and worked so hard I almost handed her a cold beer. It is a lovely medium sized egg that looks pink next to the others. Yay I can easily tell hers from the rest! Now for the other pullet to get to laying. She submitting to being bred and her comb is really red, so I'm sure it'll be soon!
Great Sarah ! So much for waiting 9 months for an egg!

Well folks, just returned late last night from the Panhandle Poultry Club Show in Pensacola, FL. Only 4 EO's showed out of 18 total English birds. Here are a few pics:

Can you spot the Orpington? The New Hampshire rooster took Champion Large Fowl, the EO took Reserve Large Fowl.
Whose black Cock Sylvia? your hen deserved Reserve Champion LF
