Oh I was afraid you were going to say Sebbies. Those are the prettiest things. Elvis is just gorgeous. I admire him everytime you post. I am going to try and rest a bit when my grands get here next weekend. Going fishing. Going to the beach. Having picnics daily

We have a 100 acre Heritage Farm/Park in our Area. We are members and I love this place. They lost funding last years and there are things in need of repair but still wonderful. This is the chicken house and it has been out there for the last 20 years. It is a reproduction made when park was being put together. Has Wood shingles. I used to donate barred rock chicks when I raised them to help them keep this breed for the farm. I love the nest boxes they have built. One of the top nest was full of eggs. I want to make some like it. Maybe I can find some old wood planks.

I love places like this!!!

My grandmother used to take me to this place in Bradenton FL like that. It was a whole park dedicated to learning about De'Soto and the indians. They had all types of mock buildings and Tepees that looked like they were built when the indians were there.

Thanks for those pictures. It was a joy looking at them!!

Michael your chicks are very cute little chunky babies. I dont think your theory on Chick down will prove out on the blues though
Well its was worth a try LOL!

The cock in picture belongs to Valerie Lillard and her daughter, Freya Petit, who is Pidgey104; He's one of yours Julie.
I remember that boy. I sold them to them in show cage and when he was judged he won Reserve Champion English in Lake City, Fl 2012. I sold a truck load of fine black cockerels down there Jan 2012. I still like the one I sold Charles Logan best though. Wish he would sell him back to me. He he.

WOW.. that is wonderful.... I like the way they did the nesting boxes.... more like bunk beds... I like the whole feel to the place. :) Bama.. if you have a local sawmill.... You can buy rough cut lumber a lot cheaper to make one of those. :)
I built something very similar to this when I first started with chickens. Shortly thereafter, I rethought the idea and built nesting shelves with no dividers as I found that the hens would sit on top of each other or squeeze in together to lay in a specific box and I was getting too many squashed eggs. It works great since they can just push each other over and lay side by side with no more broken eggs.
