Ok I promise, that's it ........... last picture of this boy
Handsome boy Nellie ! Those Whites keep sneaking into photos to tempt me too ! They are so balanced and spectacular !

Julie, great looking chicks, I hope they do good for you.
Nellie that roo. looks great, it would be nice like you said if he were all black, great type !

I agree Roger. Nellie's rooster is really nice. But, that is not what she said. She said either black or chocolate. I love both the black and the chocolate. The type is what really matters. Large Fowl Chocolate is really rare though. I think she is leaning toward the chocolate side. But, I could be wrong. Anyway, he looks nice Nellie.

Actually I know it is a long road but I really like this guy. I have him in my chocolate coop right now because I think he is nicer than the pure LF chocolate roo. I am keeping the black cockerels from him. When they are adults I am going to go through the test breedings to get the best pure blacks,

I like him that much. I will go as far as to say he is the best black rooster I have ever had.

Have you ever seen such a sweet face. He actually likes to get petted and is right under foot.

Roger I don't know how your breeding pens are set up but I would send you some black chicks from this guy if you wanted to work with them. I have not sold any because I am a little worried about them getting in the black orp population and not being true blacks. The black pullets are not an issue at all because they can not be split. But I worry about the roos. PM me if you are interested.

You need to do a proper trade..EBO for EWO....then you could call your farm, silver and gold ...and they are silver..

I am so ate up with these birds. Now for a little silliness.
Here is what my chickens had for breakfast. Chopped blue berries, chopped banana, flax and almond granola, cottage cheese, and strawberry Greek yogurt. Yeah, I love my big fluffy critters.

The babies are in the brooder :)

The Buff chicks are 50% English (sired by Midas) and 50% American (from hens bred by Don Chandler)
There are a few BBS's in the mix... and yes... you don't need new glasses or clean your screen... there is a Sebbie gosling in with them.
