The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Julie, I've only been making soap for a month or so. I have a friend that will trade goat's milk for eggs. I found a recipe that uses 4 yolks and the milk. Haven't even tried the soap yet. In another week or so I'm lathering up with the good stuff. It's really addictive, Julie!

HardinPoultry, I'm sorry to hear about your Cock Bird.

Delisha, my husband suggested last night to let the girls eat the bugs in the vegetable garden...silly man. They'd eat all my seedlings in minutes. I guess I'll have to see which ones they'd leave alone.

Do you have the recipe? Was it easy?

a few pics from the yard, getting ready to open up the orchard area..just checking fence lines and clearing fallen branches and tidy up befor we let them out there..there are a lot of low tree branches that confound the hawks ..need to add a smaller section for the babies .

EBO patiently waiiting for me open the gate and let them out to the grass..

Im getting that what is taking you so long look

I dont think this baby is going to fit under that teddy bear much longer

Tried to take a pic of the whole group for Roger..but they are everywhere and faster than I am..

Beautiful all Lynn. Love your Big Buff. he is so very handsome.

I was going through my FB allbums looking for soap pics and came across this pic of Charlie I made in 2011 and just blessed my heart to see him again. I am very thankful thank to have a tub full of his chicks a week old in my laundry room right now.

I just love these pictures - the orp patiently waiting and it just looks like an awesome place. Yes probably going to need a bigger bear love it! Debbie

Yaya, Wow! Wouldn't dream of showing you my failed attempt this year. My tomatoes and green beans seem to be doing well despite my efforts. My soaps were a hit. Made with fresh egg yolks and goat's milk. I've needed to be really creative on using all the eggs my girls give our family and the neighbor's families.
REALLY interested in how you put the yolks in there. Did you freeze them along with the milk or what? I make all my own soap plus for my friend. She loves it. For now it's just plain castile but I've made herbal scented, etc etc in the past. So simple to do and feels so good I just can't stand the thought of BUYING bar soap or even shampoo any more.
