The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

It really helps me to see different stages. I look at UK sites with chicks at various stages to help me also.

Here is Lizzie Progression

It helps me tremendously seeing the progression and change. Plus all the fantastic extra tidbits – the tail angle, the book info – things like this.

Helps to give me a “new” eye when looking at my orps, even my APA birds, so that I can make note of the differences. (besides size and fluff)

There are no real shows around me - one 4-h that was canceled last year - so I depend a lot on the pictures here to compare to what is in my yard.

I think when I receive my chicks I'll make a thread to record it's growth from day 1 to 1 year old, updated with pictures at least once weekly to show detailed development with these birds. I've seen this same idea done somewhat with other birds and I really like the thought.

Joy, do you think you could get a couple pictures of them for me when they're hatching in the bator and maybe right before shipping them? I would very much appreciate it!

Stay tuned folks, the updates will soon be on their way.

Farmboi you will be glad in the long run if you keep sort of a picture journal. Can't wait to see it.

Now that I think about it I might journal 2 chicks, in hopes that 1 will be a cockerel and the other a pullet. That way we can see the progression of both genders.

Hm... what to call this thread... suggestions?

The Two Little Orpingtons and How They Grew.

Whoops- you are a guy, bet you never read "The Five Little Peppers and How They Grew". Those were some of my favorite books growing up.
